Curriculum
At OLM, a key element of our mission statement is ‘Love of Learning’. We know that successful learners are actively engaged in their learning so we are always looking for ways to inspire our children and make their learning meaningful. This could be as simple as a walk to the petrol station to see how an electric car is charged or a bus trip to the Arts Depot see a Christmas show. Maybe it’s writing a letter David Lammy to put their views across or having a visit from the CEO of the refugee council to engage in Q&A. Perhaps it is learning the trumpet in our year 4 music lessons or practising the cha-cha-cha with a professional dancer.
We are passionate in ensuring that the curriculum is meaningful for our children and is reflective of the diversity of our school and world they live in.
Alongside this, it is vital that there is rigour and scope in our curriculum. We ensure that, as a minimum, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and the National Curriculum in Key Stages 1 and 2.
